MELISSA,TX – 12/07/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — For the first time in school history, the Melissa Independent School District will have its very own baseball and softball fields to call home.
After years of playing on fields leased to them by the city, Melissa ISD will soon open its own baseball and softball facility at a newly constructed complex located near the district’s new high school.
Melissa ISD selected Symmetry Sports to build the new complex which includes: Symmetry’s high-performance Genesis® turf on the baseball and softball fields, new Musco lighting systems, new bleacher seating with state-of-the-art press boxes, covered batting cages, and spacious bullpens.
“This sports complex is very important to the kids in Melissa Schools and our partnership with the City of Melissa,” said Duke Sparks, Director of Community Outreach for Melissa ISD. “Jason Bell and his team at Symmetry Sports are very good at what they do and work hard to build great relationships with their clients. We are excited about working with them and showcasing the best complex we know of.”
The fields will formally open after the first of the year and the high school will begin playing home games in February.
